Quotes & Poetry

I’m waiting

With her face a dazzling light, darkening my eyes to all else

And her smile sweet and charming

Eyes sparkling with an excitement,

Of what is past and what will be.

Lips full of compassion, and overflowing with eloquence

Hair so rich and soft, grown from passion and playfulness.

This is my beauty, this is my love…

Cheery and loving, always kind;

Pulling me into life when I feel like it isn’t worth living.

Braving the dragon, and fending off the wolf,

To see me broken, distraught and useless.

Yet still reaching into me;

Pondering all my depths, and all my insecurities.

Laying a hand on me - wiping away my tears.

Venturing into my rundown mine,

And bringing back a fine gold nugget.

Oh! My love!

Will I ever find thee?

Years have I searched for you

Eons have I waited

Ages have past, yet I still have not found you.

This thirst turns me into a sandy wasteland.

This hunger makes my belly a thousand clawed monster.

No food nor drink can cure this insatiable want;

Nay, not a want; a need-

Like air or sun my heart pines for you.

Not a single day passes without my thoughts straying to you,

Without my love for you stirring me to action.

Wait I must for you to seek me out

But in the interim, while my heart knocks erratically against my chest

I will beseech my maker to speed you onwards

Onwards to mine eager arms!
